United Nations Security Council

 Agenda: Discussing the Conflict of Armenia-Azerbaijan with Special emphasis on Nagorno-Karabakh

For decades, the mountains of Nagorno-Karabakh have been locked in conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan. With the fall of the Soviet Union,wars were waged from 1994 all the way until 2020. Even today the region seeks the establishment of peace through accountability, advocacy and alliance. The committee will deliberate on treaty and law violations from both parties and the growing artillery in Azerbaijan.

Chairperson- Nitya Arora

Nitya Arora is an economics graduate from delhi university and is currently working with the D. E. Shaw group. She’s been involved with both the MUN and debating circuit ms in India and Asia for close to a decade. She has been involved in 100+ MUNs as a delegate, executive board member and OC alike. She’s passionate about world politics, humanitarian aid and women empowerment. She spends all her free time reading, writing and exploring Pinteresty cafes.

Vice Chairperson- Sourish Bharadwaj

Sourish Bhardwaj has been an active participant in the MUN circuit for nearly a decade, excelling in debating, adjudicating, and leading conferences across Delhi, India, and internationally, including Toronto. Known for his ability to navigate high-pressure debates and analyze complex policies, he chaired The North American Model United Nations in 2024, shaping impactful discussions. Beyond MUN, he has led government-certified human research and policy projects in Canada, enhancing his expertise in governance and international law. In Delhi, he collaborates with NGOs, B-schools, and startups, driving leadership development and global affairs discussions.
