United States Senate 

 Agenda: Deliberating upon the future of reproductive health and rights in the United States

The overturning of Roe v. Wade has sparked a nationwide debate on abortion rights, state sovereignty, and the intersection of law and personal freedoms. This decision has significant implications for reproductive rights, women’s health, and access to safe medical procedures, with states now empowered to regulate or ban abortions. This committee will explore the legal, ethical, and social ramifications of the decision, focusing on its impact on women’s rights, healthcare systems, and state-federal relations.

Chairperson- Ananya Patnaik

Ananya Anandita Patnaik is currently pursuing a master's degree in Criminology and Forensic Psychology. With a strong academic foundation and a keen interest in research, she actively engages in exploring issues related to victimization, offender rehabilitation, and systemic reforms. Beyond academics, Ananya has been deeply involved in policy discussions, humanitarian initiatives, and advocacy work, collaborating with NGOs, law enforcement agencies, and international organizations. Her dynamic presence in both academic and public spheres reflects her commitment to driving meaningful change in the fields of criminal justice, mental health, and social development.

Anushka Sethi is a first-year BA (Hons) Journalism student at Delhi College of Arts and Commerce, University of Delhi, known for her strong leadership and public speaking skills. She has served as the Cultural Head (2023-24), Secretary General of IgniteMUN Chapter II (2023-24), and Vice Cultural Secretary (2022-23) at DPS RN Extension. Anushka is also the Relationship Manager for Project Udaan a mental health organization and led the PR team during the 2023-24 academic year. Beyond academics and public speaking, Anushka is a district-level swimmer and was crowned Ms. DPSRNE 2023-24, a testament to her all-around excellence.
