Joint Crisis Committee - ASEAN+

 Agenda: Discussing China’s involvement in Territorial Disputes with Taiwan including the South China Sea

 The People’s Republic of China’s actions in regions such as Taiwan and the South China Sea hold the power to escalate tensions between regional players and global powers. With an increase in the Chinese military, complexities in the region are set to escalate. Therefore, this committee of  JCC will explore and discuss strategies in response to China’s growing presence in the Asia - Pacific region with the aim to counterbalance China’s assertiveness and to ensure regional stability.

Chairperson- Prerna Dewan

Prerna Dewan is a final-year master's student in the Department of Political Science at Delhi University. She completed her undergraduate studies at Ramjas College, earning a B.A. (Hons.) in Political Science. Her core research areas lie at the intersection of International Relations and Gender, with a focus on Global IR, Post-Western IR, Decolonial IR, Intersectionality in Gender and IR, and Global Justice Studies. She has held several leadership and editorial roles, serving as the Secretary-General of the first edition of her school’s conference in 2020. At Ramjas College, she was an associate editor of a peer-reviewed academic journal and was actively involved in the college's debating society. Beyond academia, Prerna pursued her interest in languages during the pandemic and attained a B1 level in French.

Vice Chairperson- Bhumika Pandey

Bhumika, a second-year Philosophy Honours student at Lady Shri Ram College, has been actively engaged in Model United Nations and debate competitions for over four years. With a strong interest in diplomacy and discourse, she has refined her skills in argumentation, negotiation, and public speaking. As the Director General of LSR MUN, Asia’s first free-of-cost and multilingual conference, she has contributed to fostering an inclusive and engaging platform for discussion. Through her work, she aims to create spaces where diverse perspectives are heard, encouraging meaningful conversations on global issues.
